Disability Sports Australia (DSA) and Badminton Australia (BA) are proud to announce an extension of their partnership through DSA's Sports Incubator Program. This collaboration continues BA’s accessibility journey providing more active options for people with disabilities.  A focus of the partnership will be expanding the reach of BA’s Shuttle Smash program into DSA’s Abilities Unleashed events.

DSA’s Sports Incubator program supports national sporting organisations and recreation providers grow active pathways for people with disabilities. Participants of the program receive tailored support from industry leaders to suit their needs and goals.

Shuttle Smash and Abilities Unleashed form a complementary duo. Shuttle Smash introduces children to badminton in an enjoyable and accessible way. Abilities Unleashed provides multi-sport come-and-try days for individuals with disabilities. Shuttle Smash featuring at Abilities Unleashed days will enhance both program’s impact. The collaboration offers individuals with disabilities greater access to badminton.

Badminton Australia General Manager Participation & Para Clare Walker expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership’s continuation.

"We are thrilled to extend our partnership with Disability Sports Australia through the Sports Incubator program. Shuttle Smash made significant strides in promoting badminton participation among individuals with disabilities. To further expand our reach and impact with the support of DSA is exciting."

"At Disability Sports Australia, we are committed to providing greater access for individuals with disabilities through sport and active recreation," said Ayden Shaw, Disability Sports Australia.

“We are thrilled to continue our collaboration with Badminton Australia through the Sports Incubator program. This will enable us to integrate Shuttle Smash more closely with our Abilities Unleashed events and introduce more people with disabilities to the fun of badminton”
