Invacare commit to 2019 Wheelchair Aussie Rules National Carnival

Disability Sports Australia (DSA) is thrilled to announce leading mobility equipment provider Invacare as the Naming Rights Partner for the 2019 Wheelchair Aussie Rules National Carnival, to be contested in Adelaide next month.

With Wheelchair Aussie Rules seeing substantial and continued growth in participation since its conception in 2015, the acquisition of Invacare to the Wheelchair Aussie Rules flagship event is a ground-breaking step for the sport and the first time a Naming Rights Partner has aligned with the annual national carnival.

Regarded as the worldwide market leader for medical products and services used in the home, Invacare’s Naming Rights partnership is indicative of their reputation as innovators in the disability sector, as they look to capitalise on an adaptive sport opportunity with infinite potential.

Disability Sports Australia’s CEO Jenni Cole believes Invacare is exactly the right partner for Wheelchair Aussie Rules’ National Carnival. “Invacare is a fantastic addition to the Wheelchair Aussie Rules family. To have our sport now aligned with a leading global brand such as Invacare is a huge step in the right direction and enables us to develop the event and the sport to a level it deserves given its rapid growth. With Invacare’s passion and commitment to bettering the lives of people with a physical disability, we really see them as a perfect fit for the event. We are delighted to have Invacare join the team” said Cole.

Invacare Asia Pacific’s Vice President and General Manager Geoff Purtill reciprocated Cole’s sentiments. “We see so much potential in this sport. We are hopeful that our partnership will provide the means to push the sport into the next phase of its development, which would be a just reward for the tireless efforts of the Wheelchair Aussie Rules community thus far. The alignment with our strategic direction was a great fit, and we very much look forward to the Invacare 2019 Wheelchair Aussie Rules National Carnival with much anticipation.” said Purtill.

The Invacare 2019 Wheelchair Aussie Rules National Carnival will run across three (3) days, with six (6) teams competing for the national crown.
