  • Leisuretime Centre 262/268 Anakie Road Norlane, VIC, 3214 Australia (map)

Badminton is an Olympic, Paralympic, and Commonwealth Games sport. Para-Badminton caters for people with physical impairments and will be an official sport for the first time at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.

Para-badminton athletes compete in men’s and women’s singles, men’s and women’s doubles and mixed doubles. Athletes are classified into six “Sport Classes” to ensure fairness in competition.

The Australian Para-Badminton International (20 - 25/11) is an open tournament sanctioned by the Badminton World Federation. This tournament will have International Classifiers to classify athletes playing in their first international competition, and is expected to welcome an estimated 100 players from all over the world.

The Oceania Para-Badminton Championships (25 - 29/11) is a closed tournament sanctioned by the Badminton World Federation. This tournament is a Continental Championship hosted every two years, and is restricted to the nations for that particular Continental Confederation.
