Disability Sports Australia is thrilled to highlight the success of the recent CPSARA Connect Day on the Central Coast. Our valued member, CPSARA, orchestrated an exceptional event that brought joy to individuals with disabilities.

Participants embraced the opportunity to try a variety of adaptive sports, including Football (Soccer), Wheelchair Basketball, Boccia, Pickleball, Yoga, and Circus activities. The atmosphere was lively as individuals of all ages and abilities came together to engage in these inclusive activities.

Many contributed to the event's triumph – this included volunteers and sport organisers to the Central Coast Council and CPSARA's team. Their collective efforts ensured a memorable and empowering experience for everyone involved.

Our esteemed South Australian member, One Culture, continues to promote inclusivity in sports through their ongoing Pickleball Program. This initiative not only brings people together but also offers young individuals in South Australia a platform to showcase their passion for Pickleball.

Held every Tuesday from 4:30pm - 6:00pm at Blair Athol Racquet Sports Hub, this program welcomes all to participate. It's an opportunity for kids with disabilities to embrace the sport, build connections, and demonstrate their dedication.

Beyond the game, this program opens doors for friendships and shared experiences and creates an environment of mutual encouragement.

Disability Sports Australia commends the achievements of our member, Disability Sport & Recreation (DSR), in their Junior Wheelchair Rugby & Development Program.

Guided by former Australian Steelers player and Victorian Head Coach, Andrew 'Harro' Harrison, DSR’s Junior Wheelchair Rugby initiative has empowered juniors aged 6-14 to embrace wheelchair rugby with passion.

The program's recent Come-and-Try events on July 16th & 23rd witnessed an enthusiastic response, that set the stage for the immersive 8-week training journey commencing on August 2nd.

The event leads into upcoming Junior Round-Robin Competition on September 23rd at Narrandjeri Stadium, where effort and sportsmanship will shine.
