The Y Victoria’s Disability Sports Hub in Boroondara recently hosted a Variety Activate Inclusion Sports Day (AISD).

On Wednesday 24 May, 70 kids tried 5 inclusive sports/activities at Boroondara Sports Complex.

This was Disability Sports Australia’s (DSA) second collaboration with naming rights partner Variety Victoria. DSA is grateful to be working with an organisation that has a profound impact on the lives of children with disability and those who are disadvantaged. The positive energy the Variety Victoria team bring to our days is shown in all the smiles amongst the participants.

Lenny’s Ramp

Last year at an AISD day in Dandenong, two of DSA’s Sports Incubator organisations collaborated to help develop their adaptive programs. Len Mason from NRL Victoria built a bowling ramp influenced Bowls Australia’s to help wheelchair users be more involved in their activities.

Len speaks about where he first saw the inspiration for the ramp, how he built it, and how the participants enjoyed it. Whilst Len speaks there are highlight clips of Variety Activate Inclusion Sports Days and participants using the ramp.]

Thank you to our naming rights partner Variety Victoria, The Y Victoria, and MatchWorks for helping us bring these days to life.
