In each edition, we will highlight the endeavours of three of our members, providing a glimpse into the events and accomplishments that have taken place across Australia over the past month.
CMV Awareness Month – Cerebral Palsy Alliance
Source: Cerebral Palsy Alliance
This June, Cerebral Palsy Alliance is raising awareness about Cytomegalovirus (CMV) during CMV Awareness Month. CMV is a lesser-known cause of disabilities like cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and deafness.
Cerebral Palsy Alliance is educating communities on CMV prevention strategies. By adopting simple hygiene practices, individuals can protect themselves and their loved ones from this common virus.
Pregnant women play a crucial role in preventing CMV transmission. Practicing careful handwashing, avoiding direct contact with saliva when kissing children, and refraining from sharing food, drinks, and personal items are vital steps.
Learn more about CMV and join the cause by visiting Cerebral Palsy's website at [hyperlink]. Together, let's protect our children's health and build a future free from CMV.
