Mackay set to host the 2019 Multi-Disability Lawn Bowls National Championships

Disability Sports Australia (DSA) is excited to host the Multi-Disability Lawn Bowls National Championships in 2019 to be held in Mackay, QLD from Sunday, 19 – Friday, 24 May 2019 at Souths Suburban Bowls Club.

The Multi-Disability Lawn Bowls National Championships, otherwise known as the ‘Multibowl’, is the premier lawn bowls competition for athletes with a physical disability in Australia. The 2019 Multibowl will see forty-five (45) athletes from six (6) states and territories compete across six (6) days of competition for national honours.

Teams from New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, Tasmania, Western Australia and Australian Capital Territory will meet in Mackay next week with Queensland looking to defend their 2018 Interstate Aggregate National Title in front of a home audience.

Jenni Cole, Disability Sports Australia’s CEO expressed her excitement for the event, stating “We look forward to welcoming the best Australian lawn bowlers with a physical disability to Mackay to the 2019 Multibowl. For the first time ever, not only with the QLD public have the chance to cheer on the athletes, lawn bowls fans from across Australia will have the chance to support these amazing athletes during the finals through the introduction of the livestream”.

This is a great event for supporters, families and avid lawn bowlers alike to attend or if you are unable to attend in person, final’s matches on Thursday, 23 and Friday, 24 May will be livestreamed for the first time.
